Owners of Verizon’s DROID Turbo 2 by Motorola are getting the latest version of Android.
Earlier today, Verizon posted on the DROID Turbo 2’s support page that a software update with Android 6.0 Marshmallow has started rolling out to devices. Marshmallow for the DROID Turbo 2 has been on an off over the last few weeks, but Motorola and Verizon have finally decided it is now time for everyone with one to start enjoying the sweetness of Android’s freshest version.
Verizon highlights these features:
- Google Now on Tap
- Doze mode
- App permissions
- Expandable storage
- Do Not Disturb
- Volume controls
- Direct Share
- Moto Display fully replaces Ambient Display
- Attentive Display
Two separate software updates will get Verizon’s exclusive to Marshmallow. The first one, version 23.31.24, prepares the DROID Turbo 2 for the massive Marshmallow-packed version 24.14.10.
Verizon recently issued software updates to the LG G4, G3, and HTC One M9. What’s important about that? Big Red is typically a slug when it comes to software updates, and getting multiple devices to the latest version of Android in such a short amount of time is positively shocking. Whoever it is at Verizon pushing the carrier to move so quickly, we applaud your work.
It should give Verizon customers ease knowing the carrier is finally paying attention to their wants of software updates being delivered in a timely manner.
