Although slated for February, the Marshmallow update has now begun rolling out to Huawei Honor 7 units in Europe.
Back in mid-February, we passed along a report that Honor 7 units would get the Marshmallow update in Europe by the end of the month. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. For all you Honor 7 owners that have been patiently waiting all this time to get your hands on the latest and greatest software from Google, we’ve got some good news for you. Huawei is now pushing the Android 6.0 update to Honor 7 units in Europe. It’s going out in waves, meaning you’ll get it by the end of the week.
The news comes from the HonorEU Twitter page. Better late than never. If you haven’t received the notification to download and install the update yet, try heading into your device settings under ‘About Phone’ and ‘check for new software updates.’ This may speed up the process. Make sure you have at least 75% battery life left prior to installing. You should also leave a block of time (15-30 mins) to allow your phone to update. This is because it’s a major release and comes at a large size. More phones should be getting the update soon!
