Earlier this week, owners of the Galaxy S5 in South Korea reported that the Android 6.0.1 update was hitting their devices. Now we have a report that the global rollout of Android 6.0.1 will begin in just a few days for the Galaxy S5.

The Galaxy S5 was Samsung’s 2014 flagship smartphone. Luckily for us, Samsung didn’t leave it out in terms of Android updates. So far there have been sightings of the update is Trinidad and Tobago, meaning it should only be a few days before the rest of world begins receiving it.

The Android 6.0.1 update comes in at a hefty size of 1.47GB and will roll out in waves over-the-air. The update will bring all of the latest features from both Samsung and Google including doze mode for battery saving, Now On Tap for contextual awareness, and simplified app permissions to keep you in control of your data. Because it’s a major overall, it’ll need some time to fully download and install.

The update will bump your Galaxy S5 up to G900MUBU1CPC3, which is Google’s latest Android 6.0.1 software. Instead of sending out Android 6.0 first, Samsung decided to go straight to Android 6.0.1, which should please many owners. Let us know when you receive the update in the comments below.
