Text like Shakespeare with new SwiftKey keyboard

Do you want to sound like Shakespeare without actually being Shakespeare? Do you often find yourself wondering what Shakespeare’s texts would have read like if he had a smartphone in the 16th century?

SwiftKey has you covered with its new ShakeSpeak app.

Oh yes, you aspiring bards. It’s an app that allows you to text like Shakespeare (or so it would seem, given the unlikeliness Shakespeare actually had a phone with texting abilities, cool though that might have been).

“2016 marks a yearlong celebration of Shakespeare and the incredible literary legacy he has left us. To celebrate the 400th anniversary of his death, the ShakeSpeak keyboard makes the greatest playwright of all time accessible in a new and unique way.”

SwiftKey is also challenging ShakeSpeak users to come up with their own versions of the Bard’s words and challenge their friends to see who does the best job. Users can use the hashtag #ShakeSpeak and tweet their Shakespearean imitations to @SwiftKey. So break out your stiffest ruffled collar and your most festive pantaloons and get texting like Shakespeare.
