Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio is reportedly devising a new scheme in the hopes of escalating its already healthy user base. Last year Jio has released RS 1500 handsets into the market which came with preinstalled Reliance Jio sim card. This enabled Jio to target the masses of India and hugely expanded its reach into various parts of India.
The rumoured plan is presumed to be the upgraded version of their previous Jio mobile phone venture. This time around the telecommunication giants are planning to further their grasp on the sector by releasing brand new affordable smart phones into the market along which will have a preinstalled Jio sim card.

Reliance JIO in order to further the rumoured affordable smart phone project is speculated to have contacted with US mobile handset manufacturer Flex. Reportedly Reliance Jio has been making a deal with the Flex to manufacture over 100 million 4G smart phones in India. The current versions of Jio phones are semi-smart phones as some of the features are supported like Youtube, Facebook, and Whatsapp, while some other services are not supported like Instagram, various other popular applications etc. So Jio team are looking to solve this issue by bringing in new upgraded models in the association with US based mobile manufacturer’s Flex group.
Flex currently has a factory in the SEZ near Chennai so it won’t be a big surprise if the two corporations collaborate to bring this new Jio phones into existence. The Flex phones are expected to be on the same lines as the current available Jio phones which will capacitate the success of possible upcoming smart phones from Jio. It might prove to be another profitable venture for Reliance Infocomm as the previous RS 1500 Jio feature phones were a huge hit amongst people of India. The cost of these smart phones is rumoured to be around RS 2000 – RS 2500 which may attract a large portion of mobile users given the attractive tariff offers presented by Jio to its own mobile customers. The users might also get 1GB data per day at reasonable price along with these handsets.
