Indian telecom industry titans Vodafone and Airtel have recently decided to tone down the number of customers who use minimal recharge packs monthly to just enjoy incoming calls without using the sim for outgoing calls. Because of this, almost 200 million 2G sim cards across India are going to get disconnected soon. Vodafone has taken such drastic measures to get rid of users who recharge with less than Rs 35 per month.
Vodafone proclaimed that they had to endure losses due to inactive customers, so they decided to get rid of those customers and they also announced that their new decision would not dent their economy. Vodafone customers across India have been receiving messages about the newly revised policy of company which states that the user has to recharge with minimum amount plan (in this case RS 35 plan) or with any of the unlimited plan recharge in order to continue using Vodafone services.
Vodafone 35 Rs Plan
Vodafone anyways introduced new Rs 35 recharge plan which is the minimum pack which offers 28 days validity. The pack offers Rs 26 talk time, 100 MB 2G/3G data valid for 28 days. Current users who wish to continue using Vodafone services even for incoming calls have to recharge with any of the recharge packs available (Rs 35 pack is the lowest value pack available on Vodafone right now) failing which the Vodafone services will be discontinued.
