Nintendo announced today that it will launch its first smartphone application, Miitomo, in the US on March 31.
Nintendo originally launched the application exclusively in Japan and saw some astronomical success, garnering a whopping 100 million users in just three days.
After seeing this success, Nintendo has decided to bring the application to US shores for both Android and iOS on March 31.
Not familiar with Miitomo? Unfortunately, it’s not really a game, but more of a chat program. Players will be able to create their own Mii characters, name them, and even customize them in all sorts of way. There’s a lot of social aspects in this game, as players will be able to compete in minigames for prizes and even pose for pictures.
Miitomo will be a free download, but there are plenty of in-app purchases to be had. These are largely accessories for customizing your Mii avatar among other things.
Anyone excited for Miitomo coming to the Play Store on March 31?
