Samsung announced refreshed models of a couple of its most popular mid-range handsets, the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 for 2016.
There aren’t a whole lot of big differences from last year’s model, as it still features the same 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera.
Obviously the Galaxy J7 is the higher-end model out of the two choices, featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, the beloved microSD card slot, LTE, NFC, and a large 3,300mAh battery.
The Galaxy J5 is significantly less powerful, sporting a 5.2-inch 720p display, a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
The handsets have been heavily rumored and speculated for a good few months now, so it’s nice to finally see it on the market.
These are both budget smartphones, so as you can imagine, the build is on the cheap side with Samsung going for a metal frame and plastic back panel. If you’re looking for something a bit more premium, but not as expensive as the Galaxy S handsets, the Galaxy A series has a more premium design.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t any official announcement as to when we’ll see the Galaxy J7 and J5 outside of the Chinese region. They’re immediately available in the market, but we’re still waiting to see if they’ll make their way to India or even the US.
Anyone planning on picking up a J7 or J5 soon?
