LG is preparing its G5 flagship in time for a first quarter release. This means that it’s only natural for rumors to begin swirling up.

The latest rumor depicts a possible dual-screen for the G5 as well as multiple cameras. According to VentureBeat, the LG G5 will be the successor of the LG G4 and will indeed be the marketing name. Some possible specs include a slightly smaller 5.3-inch display with a QHD resolution in addition to a smaller secondary display with a resolution good for 160 x 1040 pixels. You can expect this to be similar to the tinker display on LG’s V10 handset.

Powering the G5 will be none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which should be backed with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The rear-facing camera should sport the same 16MP and the front will likely remain 8MP. The difference maker here is a rumored third lens that will be placed on the rear-side to provide a dual-lens experience. This could bring 3D type images and a better video capturing experience.

The G5 should also be the first of its series to include a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the handset and making wireless payments. LTE connectivity, NFC and Bluetooth 4.1 should also be onboard. It’s only a matter of time before leaks and renders start surfacing, so stay tuned for all the coverage leading up to the official unveiling.
